Founded in 1997 as a Sino-foreign joint venture of Boehringer Ingelheim, Beijing Boehringer Ingelheim Vital Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (formerly Beijing Merial Vital Laboratory Animal Technology Co., Ltd.) specializes in the production and sale of SPF eggs, chicken embryos, and chickens. The company currently operates four computer-controlled SPF chicken breeding facilities, covering an area of over 70 acres, with an annual production capacity of more than 20 million high-quality SPF eggs.

To ensure product quality, the company implements a strict production management system. The production department adheres to rigorous standard operating procedures (SOPs), enforces stringent quarantine and biosecurity measures, and conducts regular intensive training for employees, prioritizing production management in daily operations.
For quality control, the company places strong emphasis on monitoring. Each week, samples are collected from all flocks at a fixed ratio and sent to the testing laboratory of Beijing Vital River Laboratory Animal Technology Co., Ltd. This lab, accredited by CNAS in 2006, is now the designated testing facility for Charles River in China. It conducts tests for poultry, rodents, primates, and other animals. The test reports are recognized in dozens of countries and regions under the ILAC-MRA agreement through CNAS.
In 2021, the launch of BI-Vital new production base in the Qidong High-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Jiangsu Province) significantly enhanced our annual production capacity and elevated our customer service capabilities.
